Passion. Experience. Diligence.

Kraemer Land Planning is a firm founded on nearly two decades of land planning experience in the Roaring Fork Valley and strong positive relationships in a community and field where reputation matters.

Mike Kraemer, founder and principal, has a bachelors of science degree in Economics from University of Wisconsin La Crosse and, after professional athletic pursuits that taught him the value of discipline and commitment to quality, returned to Madison to earn his Master Degree in City Planning from the University of Wisconsin.

Called west by a desire to immerse himself in the outdoors and an active lifestyle, Mike found his first professional home with Pitkin County's Community Development Department. It was there that Mike first forged relationships with field professionals that are still maintained today, and where he gained a deep understanding of the subtleties of land use code under the mentorship of leaders who quite literally, wrote the land use codes in Pitkin County. During this time, Mike worked on notable projects, many of which established a precedent that is still referenced today. Mike's 15 years at the County was followed by time working as a Senior Planner for the City of Aspen before transitioning to consulting work in early 2020. With a renewed interest in fostering positive interactions between private citizens and government agencies throughout the land use process, Kraemer Land Planning was born at the end of 2021.
